Today’s the day I’ve been working toward for a long time, and I’m genuinely excited to share it: the Evidentia 3+ download is now available — version 3.9.0.
This is a complete rebuild of the Evidentia you’ve used for your genealogy research — written from scratch with modern foundations, cloud storage support, and improvements that came directly from your feedback over the years. The methodology hasn’t changed. The workflow will feel familiar. But the app running underneath it is a different animal entirely.
What’s New in 3+?
If you’ve been using Evidentia 3, you’ll recognize everything you care about: sources, claims, evidence, analysis, citations, conclusions. That core research loop is intact. What 3+ adds is a rebuilt foundation that makes things possible that weren’t before:
- Cloud storage sync — connect Dropbox, OneDrive, or Google Drive to keep your research in sync across machines, or stay fully local. Your choice.
- FamilySearch integration — browse FamilySearch records from within Evidentia and link them directly to your sources
- Record Library — a central library of all your source attachments, with audit tools to find and repair broken links

Important: Back Up Your Data Before You Start
Please back up your current Evidentia data before starting the migration. Your research represents years of careful work. A backup takes two minutes and gives you a safety net you will be very glad to have if anything unexpected happens during the transition.
Your Evidentia data lives in a single folder on your computer. Copy that folder somewhere safe — an external drive, a cloud backup, anywhere outside the Evidentia installation — before you proceed.
